This is a great park. It really gets back to nature with the trees and the wildlife. It sits right by the lake which used to be the site of goldminers in the 1850s. The lakes waters hide what was well worked grounds dug up by mostly Chinese miners. There is a walking track around the lake which has lots of ducks and other water birds. The park has good clean amenities right in the centre of the park. It also has a camp kitchen and you can hire a fire pit and wood for a cosy camp fire. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommend this park.

Kelly weekend is held every year the first weekend in August to commemorate the trial of Edward Kelly in 1880. The main street is blocked off and the locals dress up in 1880s costume. There is court house re enactments of the trial and other Kelly re enactments but you have to book early if you dont want to miss out. In 2010 was the 30 year anniversary of the making of the Last Outlaw and it was the 130 year anniversary of Neds Death. So the four sets of armour was brought together and put on display at the town Hall, actors from the series came into town and memoribilia from the series was located at a temporary display at the Burke Museum. The Burke museum has permenent Ned items which include the door step that Joe Byrne stepped over when he shot his friend Aaron Sherrit (he is now burried in the Beechworth cemetery along with his brother )It also has a death mask of Ned and an exact replica of Joe Byrnes Armour. While in Beechworth look for the site of the Imperial Hotel where Ned and Wild Write had their famous boxing match and the Woolshed valley is where the police hid in caves to watch over the Byrnes hut while hunting for the gang in 1879. Aaron Sherrits hut was also in the Woolshed valley.

    Hi Sue,

We just wanted to thank you for the wonderful park facilities that we and our extended family enjoyed last weekend. Without exception everyone in our party commented about the cleanliness of their accommodation and the beautiful and well-kept surrounds of the park.

We are happy to report that all 24 of us made it to Bright in one piece and Brian has since commented that it is the best birthday that he has ever had...and now he has had 60 of them!

Thank you again for your contribution to the celebration (including allowing Pauline and Joanne into our villa to hang some streamers and balloons)...can't wait until we return!

    Kind regards,

    Margaret

    Hello Roger and Sue,
I would just like to thank you for the past 2 weeks. We enjoyed our stay ot Beechworth very much - obviously the weather was amazing, but we were also impressed with your running of the caravan park, its neatness and the activities that you provided.
We decided to head home a day early because of the prediction of rain - after such a period of glorious weather, it would have been a pity to get damp canvas on the last evening.
We wish you all the best for the coming year, and we might see you again next Christmas.
    Regards

    Robert Russell
