Cooktown Caravan Park is the first caravan park on the left 1.5ks from town. Watch out for sign it can be a little hard to see. A loverly leafly park with plenty of shade. Large sites with power & water handy to site. The owners (John & Mary Noonan) are very friendly and show you the park before you book in. John helps you into site and makes sure everything is ok. Local info is available at office. Amenities are clean & adequate, plenty of hot water but there is only 1 washing in the laundry (get in early). Rates were as expected $33 a night for a powered site (peak season). Stay 7 nights and get one free. The park is on the main road but very quiet at night. Main street and supermarket is only a short walk away. There is no pool or playground, good for us oldies no noise. Suitable for a month or more.
