Short walks lead to famous rock formations such as The Needles and Anvil Rock, or you can take the spectacular five-day World Heritage Walk. Waratahs and Christmas bells bloom Octoberto December,and drive-to lookouts give dramatic wilderness views. Mulligans and Boundary Creek camping areas have visitor facilities and suit car-based camping (and will take medium-sized caravans) or you can backpack camp throughout the park.
Access 79 km east of Glen Innes, 104km west of Grafton off the Gwydir Highway. The 9-km park entry road from the highway to Mulligans is unsealed but suitable for all weather. Vehicle entry fee applies. Wheelchair access: medium

This is a forested area near Little Dandahra Creek, suitable for swimming. There are 6 camping areas to suit multi-vehicle groups and 15 individual sites for tents and medium sized caravans and camper trailers. Several walking tracks start from the Mulligans area.
Getting there: This campground is 10km along Mulligans Drive (the main park access road), off the Gwydir Highway.
Facilities: picnic tables, wood barbecues, gas/electric barbecues, flush toilets, cold showers, amenities block
Water supply: Tap water is available - boil before drinking. The campsite is accessible by all weather unsealed roads suitable for 2wd vehicles

At the Dandahra picnic area, along the Gwydir Hwy, turn south onto Mulligans Drive (aka Dandahra Trail) and drive for 10km to the site.
