Gold Coast Canals - Gold Coast QLD

The Gold Coast Canals find one of their major sources in Tallebudgera Creek which arises in the Springbrook Plateau and travels towards the sea through Tallebudgera Valley to the southern slopes of Burleigh Mountain at Burleigh Heads and eventually enters the Pacific Ocean in the east. Despite the catchment area being no greater than 30km there is abundant water in Tallebudgera Creek to feed the canals. Tallebudgera Creek is one of the Gold Coast's three main canal and creek systems the others being the slightly larger Currumbin Creek to the south and the much larger Nerang River to the north. Photos on this page were taken on 3rd April, 2010.
