Muttonwood Camping Ground - Heyfield VIC

Beautiful campsites on the banks of the Wellington River among the tall mountains. Area was burned and flooded in 2006/7 but is beginning to rejuvinate. Sealed road from Licola, dirt road through campsites easily traversed by two wheel drive cars and camper vans (I have even seen caravans there before).

There are about 8 camps in the area,we stayed at the Currawong camp for 2 beautiful peaceful days next to the Wellington river and yes you can get caravans in but be warned the road from Licola is VERY narrow, twisty in places very close to steep drops to the valleys below.Very nerve racking and I do not recommend it at all, luckily there were no trucks coming the other way(or caravans).
