Photos on this page were supplied by our roving reporters Phil and Clare Davis in June 2010.
Like so many of you campers when travelling I try to keep the cost down, yet find a park that offers all the basic amenities and provides a good camp area. I chose this park as the Information centre advised it was rated 4 stars and reasonably priced at $29 a night.
Upon appearance at the park it appeared that the park was OK, once we managed to slide the broken reception door open we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who then arranged our site and supplied very helpful information and booklets on the town.
When we reached our site I was very surprised to see the grass site and surrounding area had not been mowed in several weeks, which was confirmed by a permanent resident, however not having a grass site for a few weeks I was happy just to have anything.
The amenities are acceptable except they are not cleaned on a specific time so they often remain dirty in appearance due to the constant use by campers; the pool was also in need of grass cutting and a general tidy up of branches and leaves.
What has become very evident whilst travelling and doing caravan reports in the NT and WA top end is that it is very seasonal accommodation availability, and you need to first see for yourself the parks available. Don’t go on brochures. Or like us you could end up in a caravan park paying top dollar for poorly maintained and service accommodation. As always this information is strictly our opinion, but hopefully it may help you.
