Merriwa Caravan Park - Merriwa NSW

Pet Friendly

Merriwa is a small town of 1,000 people 281km north of Sydney. The Merriwa Caravan Park is located at the end of the main street on the western side of the town. The park is quite neat and facilities appear to be adequate considering the limited number of powered sites for caravans. The park is on the main road so some traffic noise may be experienced from time to time. The resident manager is Trudie Parker. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on 31st August 2006.

Must have adjusted fees since last year, stayed here 8 April 2015 $20 p.n. great hot shower, clean amenities top place to stay overnight on the way to wherever. Arrived 2pm got a site no probs. Friendly lady arrived not long after to collect fee.
We travelled with 2 dogs great spot to walk them along river. Would stay again, highly recommended.

Clean enough, but $30 per night? for what?
Arrived early, had to wait till 4.30 to get key to access showers, which had not been cleaned.
No washing machine. Old construction site amenity building very cramped shower cubicle, no cold water over hand basin--all for $30. Will bypass next time.

A reason why i stayed at Merriwa Caravan Park in December 2009, was as a kid my uncle owned the i think it was the Royal Hotel. As a boy of just 3 1/2 yrs old i was up to mistrif with my cousin in the bar one morning just before opening time. We were playing barmen :) and i left the taps running at the bar as both of us were totally under the weather on the floor drunk :) My uncle Hallam came in and was so anoyed he marched me to the local police station, berp and i was locked up for app 30 mins berp. On comming back to Merriwa i reconised the hotel and had a few quite ales in there. But i felt up to mischif again, i walked around the corner to the police station, to let the officer know i had been once in that lock up. But there was no one there to find out if i skipped bail back in 1948. Also what a great Rslclub in Merriwa, you got to try the farm house burgers, the best burger i have ever had. It is hard to beat any small town to visit, you get a smile a good ay mate, and mostly a good meal to go with the friendly town you are in. So why not stop at Merriwa or any other small town, do a spot of shooping, have a cold beer maybe a counter lunch, as the town would say thank you for your visit and support.
