Moree (pop. 9,300) is situated 665km west of Sydney. The town is located on the junction of the Newell and Gwydir highways and is famous for its artesian spa baths. Whilst in the town, there are many places of interest to see. Look at an early settlers cottage in Mary Brand Park. See the Court House, and the Lands Department building in Frome Street. The Moree Plains Gallery occupies another heritage building, the former CBC Bank and is well worth the vist for its variety of exhibitions. Also in Frome St is the Moree Club, another of the many heritage buildings to be found. At the Amaroo Tavern in South Moree you can climb aboard the big plane and experience what it was like for those who traveled in such aircraft.
