Pacific Dunes Golf Course - Medowie NSW

The Pacific Dunes Golf Course is located at Championship Drive at Medowie in Port Stephens. To describe it as a magnificent course would be an understatement. The course is challenging but you don't have to have a sub 10 handicap to enjoy it. The layout is well marked but I would have liked a fairway diagram for each hole. For example, on the first hole you cannot see the water before the green until you move well down the fairway. The course has lots of demanding fairway bunkers and some of these are quite deep. The cafe serves a nice lunch so take a break mid way through your 18 hole round.

Occasional showers moved through on the day these photos were taken so that is why some greens show rain. The course, including the greens, has excellent drainage so managing in the wet was not a problem. Kangaroos can be seen in different parts of the course and are quite a nice feature. New housing developments are being built around the course and these will obviously attract a lot of interest. Hole 18 is quite challenging with water along most of the right edge of the fairway. Pacific Dunes Golf Course should be an absolute "must do" on your golfing calendar.
