Cobram is a town of 3,800 people situated 251km north of Melbourne. Cobram is a popular destination for holidaymakers, particularly fishermen in search of Goldern Perch, Murray Cod, Redfin and Silver Perch. The famous Murray Lobster is also found in the rivers around Cobram. The town was first settled in 1887 and after the Second World War became the home of many soldier settlers. The area has many historic buildings and the home of the "Great Duck Race" which is held each year on Easter Sunday. The town boasts a fine golf course and many other sporting facilities.
