Swan Hill is a town of 9,400 people situated on the banks of the Murray River 336km north of Melbourne. Known as the Pioneer City the town has some wonderful heritage buildings. The Pioneer Settlement Museum is definitely worth a visit and will probably take you a couple of days to fully explore. The town has a delightful park and the flat terrain makes for easy walking and exploration. The Murray Downs Golf and Country Club is a superb golf course and situated over the NSW border 8km north of the town.
