Paddys River Dam is in the
Bago State Forest, but camping is allowed at this site. The whole area is very beautiful and the Hume and hovell walking track, goes past this area. For more info just contact Tumbarumba visitors information centre. It is very popular with 'horsey' people, who love to ride through the bush. Everything is BYO, drinking water, generator, etc. There are bush toilets (hole in the ground), and picnic tables. Camp fires are allowed in open areas, as long as there is no total fire ban, or The Forestry have not put a ban in place (summer). There are heaps of trout in the dam and some are very large. The trouble is they are so well fed by insects etc, that they are not really hungry, so it is a real challenge to try to catch one. No booking is required so just turn up.
