Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Course - Tweed Heads NSW
The Coolangatta Tweed Heads Golf Course
is located at Soorley Street, Tweed Heads South, NSW
. Tweed Heads is situated on the coast on the NSW/Queensland border. The Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club has two 18 hole championship courses. One is called the West Course and the other the River Course. Coolangatta Tweed Golf Club is rated in the Top 25 of Australian Golf Courses. The Club house has a very large golf ball on top which can be seen for miles. Many golfers would prefer a ball of this size to the conventional golf ball. The Club House is very modern and has excellent amenities.
Bookings for golf can be made by telephoning the Pro Shop on (07) 5524-4644 and please tell the Golf Club that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on the 14th July 2006.
The course is very easy to navigate due to excellent signage. Many of the greens are surrounded by challenging bunkers, some of which are quite deep. A kiosk is located next to the 11th Hole which is a perfect place for rest and refreshment if you are undertaking 18 holes on the West Course. Greens throughout play consistently and reward good putts.
Two obstacles challenge players at the 11th Tee - the large water obstacle directly in front of the tee area and the road to the right. Most of the course is lined with mature trees and these can produce special challenges with a chip back to the fairway usually being the best solution. The course is very spacious and delightful to walk. Special thanks to Steve and Dianne Profke and Gary Hutchinson (all of Coffs Harbour) who joined me for the 18 holes.
