Woolgoolga is situated 586 kilometers north of Sydney on the eastern coast of Australia. Fifty per cent of the population of 3,750 is made of Sikh migrants who came to Australia many years ago. They give Woolgoolga (also know locally as 'Woopi') a distinct character. One of the landmarks of Woolgoolga is the stunning Sikh Temple which can easily been seen from the Pacific Highway. Woolgoolga has four caravan parks and I stayed at the Lakeside Caravan Park which is 1km north of the Post Office. The Lakeside is a small caravan park in a magnificent setting adjacent to the sea. Bookings can be made by phoning 02 6654-1210.
