The Treasure Island Caravan Park has a choice of self-contained cabins and caravans, powered caravan and campervan sites and camping and tent sites – many on the foreshore of the Derwent River. The self-contained holiday cabins have ensuite bathrooms and fully-equipped kitchens, and the heated caravans are equipped for self-catering.
Park facilities include three amenities blocks with shared bathroom facilities and a communal campers’ kitchen. The Park has barbecues, public telephones, laundry facilities and there is an adjacent children’s playground. Local activities and attractions include the Cadbury Chocolate Factory and Moorilla Winery and Museum. There is a public bus service to Hobart, and a nearby tavern and swimming pool.
Photos on this page were kindly supplied by our roving reporter Lynn Gorman in December 2011.
Lynn writes: "Well located approx 15mins to centre of Hobart, cycleway to city. Older park, gets very muddy after rain. LOTS of rabbits (they need to be controlled). Sites on river side are quieter (apart from hum of treatment plant nearby) as ensuite sites are close to highway. One or two trains pass daily but are hardly noticeable."
Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you found them on Caravan Park Photos.
