Binnaway NSW is a charming town of 500 people situated on the Castlereagh River 458km west of Sydney. The name Binnaway may derive from an Aboriginal term which means peppermint tree. The town was originally laid out in 1876. Binnaway is certainly a friendly tidy town in a charming rural environment. The town has some nice parks and
camping areas. Excellent accommodation is available at the
Binnaway Rail Heritage Barracks. Photos on this page were taken in July 2010.
