Caravan Park Heaven

Shellharbour Beachside Tourist Park is in a stunning location and I can’t help speculating that this may be the place that caravanners go to when they die.  It is Caravan Park heaven!

This excellent video may motivate you to point your caravan or car in the direction of South Australia.  It looks a nice place.

Ilfracombe Caravan Park near Longreach Queensland.

I received the following note from Wendy Kleeman concerning Ilfracombe Caravan Park:

“Ilfracombe is situated 27kms east of Longreach. You feel you belong as soon as you pull in. With a get together and entertainment and nibbles every evening during the tourist season. A very friendly park. Booked for one night stayed for three! Only wished we had stayed there while we did the Longreach attractions as it would have been far more pleasant and cheaper too. Don’t drive past this one.”

Here is a street view of the park from Google Maps:

The Quieter Side of Byron Bay

Byron Bay has a reputation for being a happening place … and it is.

However for visitors who want to enjoy the buzz of Byron Bay without the late parties and rage atmosphere then I recommend the Glen Villa Resort.

This resort is located in a quiet part of the town and surrounded by bushland.   I have enclosed a few sample photos below but the full set can be seen here.

A Caravan Resort

I recently visited the Casino Village RV Resort in NSW.  It is a stunning property located on a large parcel of land adjacent to the Casino Airport.

What they have achieved here is truly remarkable.  They have facilities for caravans and RV’s but the big difference is the over 50’s Manufactured Home Precinct which provides comfortable homes with provision for a caravan or RV and a safe base from which to venture out and explore Australia.

The facilities are, as the name suggests, resort-standard.

I can’t help feeling that this concept will spread as more and more retirees opt out of crowded cities and combine their love of travel with country living.

I’ve placed three sample photos below but the full gallery of pictures can be seen at Caravan Park Photos.
