Sue Reynolds of Melbourne reviews Tongala Caravan Park Victoria

This is a well kept, pretty caravan park, but is more suited to the senior traveller who retires early in the evening. Our first experience was the female owner pointing out the down sides of the park on our arrival. Our site was lovely, spacious and grassy. On our second evening about 11 families gathered in the camp kitchen to chat about our travels with our newly made friends (as you do in caravan parks), the male owner came over threatening to kick out the person / familiy who left wet toilet paper in the male toilets, them came back at 10.30pm and shut down the camp kitchen and was very rude and abrupt, sending us back to our sites to go to bed. The games room was locked and only with an adult could the children go in. The pool was cold and paint from the bottom and sides of the pool came off on your feet and fingers. There are much friendlier places to stay up the road in Echuca, we won’t be back and in fact left a day early.

We also had a very uncomfortable stay over easter, and can confirm the above statement, we had four families gather from Tasmania, WA, and vic we all looked forward to seeing each other as we had not seen each other as a complete family for over 10 months we were confronted by the female owner when we got out of the car and abused for using the book on line service as they take 10% and told we were too early to come in. NO FUN ALOUD IN THIS PARK. The park was a very pretty, clean and spacious place but if you want to stay up after 10.30 dont go there. Our party’s ages ranged from 11 months up to 62 and we are a family not yar hoos which we felt like most of the time.
I am sure there are much friendler placesw to spend your money on.

This was Easter. The park was full to capacity, hence the 10.30 pm shut down, quiet time, we had alot of young families in the park and noise travels. The TV Room was open and away from sites if they wanted to keep chating.
The wet toilet paper was thrown over the walls, this is why he was upset.
The games room is opened on request, 12 year and under must have adult supervision.
Yes the pool is not heated, it was very very cold and should have been shut down, but we keep it open for Easter.
