Andrew Daff, the Manager of Lane Cove River Tourist Park writes:
“Lane Cove River Tourist Park wishes to advise guests of some potential disruption to usual park life. The park has become the new home of Channel 7’s hit drama Home and Away. All of the “Summer Bay” caravan park segments are being filmed at the park. Whilst the park has dedicated an area specifically for filming the show, guests may encounter local Aussies Stars and a small army of trucks used in the production process.
On occasion, the shows producers request night time filming access which we insist finishes prior to 10pm. Regular viewers of Channel 7’s Home and Away may have seen the park in some recent episodes and those staying at the park are sometimes called upon to be extras in the show. So far, after several filming shoots, we are pleased to advise that disruption to normal life has been very minimal and our guests appreciate rubbing shoulders with the popular and friendly TV stars that turn up for the shoots.
Guests will also be happy to know that we are offsetting the emissions from filming with a substantial new solar investment. We have just signed off on the purchase and installation of world first solar canvas technology that will cover our newest BBQ area and generate 2Kilowatts of green energy back into our park grid. The canvas should be installed by the end of May 2010.
We would like to thank Channel 7’s Home and Away show for their contribution to our sustainability program and their offset to the park.”
