Kim Mulpeter reviews Wellington Caves Holiday Complex & Caravan Park NSW

Our roving reporter Kim Mulpeter of Woongarrah in NSW reviews Wellington Caves Holiday Complex & Caravan Park NSW:

“Upon arriving we noticed someone else had taken the concrete site that belonged to our site (very selfish). After eventually sorting it out at the office we were given another site. The park has lots of BBQs (but could do with a good clean). The sites are very big with trees for shade. The amenities block have hot showers but the water comes back into the change room area of the shower. The location is excellent with golf, gardens, and caves all in walking distance. Overall loved the big sites not camping on top of each other.”

The comment from Kim Mulpeter regarding Wellington Caves Caravan Park in relation to ‘someone else takling his site’ is a little difficult to understand, we have camped at Wellington Caves caravan park on two occasions, April 2009 and April 2010, on both occasions we were invited to select any site we wished, also on both occasions the park has been virtually deserted with mnay vacant sites with, or without, concrete slabs, so to say that ‘our site’ was taken is difficult to understand. Also, the date of Kims posting(April 13 2010) corresponds with the date that we were actually in the park.

In response to the above. We had booked well in advance for a slab site. On arrival were told site 21 and when going there a car and van were parked in the road between 20 and 21 with power coming from 20 but the van on the slab for 21. Went to the office to tell them but they said too busy to worry about it. were given site 9 which was great. The park was almost full over the easter period so sites were limited and this was when we were there. Overall would recommend the park and location, it was the rude individual that spoiled it and the management not moving them.
