Churchill Caravan Park in Churchill Victoria

Churchill is a town in the Latrobe Valley, located in central Gippsland in the east of Victoria, Australia. The town had a population of 4,588 at the 2006 census, and is part of the Latrobe City local government area. The town was named in honour of former British leader Sir Winston Churchill.

Churchill has one defining and quite unique landmark, that being a huge replica of Winston Churchill’s cigar (known locally as “the big cigar”). Originally it was anticipated that five of these would be built around points of the town centre’s edge, but only one was actually ever built. The Binishell was also a prominent feature visible from much of the eastern side of town, this has since been pulled down.

Near the base of the cigar is a commemorative brick wall built by the Rotary Club of Hazelwood. It gives the names of the first families to move into the town.

Nyora Caravan Park in Nyora Victoria

Nyora is a town in south Gippsland, Australia. At the 2006 census, Nyora had a population of 545.

The Post Office opened around September 1890 replacing an office at nearby Lang Lang East open since 1885.

The town’s railway station and general store were included in the popular ABC TV program Something in the Air. The township featured in the TV series was known as “Emu Springs”.

Nyora is home to the former V/Line railway station of the same name, which served primarily as a freight and goods transfer facility as well as the branch station for the former Foster – Leongatha and Wonthaggi lines.

The railway station presently serves as part of the South Gippsland Railway — a community based heritage / tourist railway organisation, with its operations base at Korumburra.

Golfers play at the course of the Lang Lang Golf Club on the South Gippsland Highway, Nyora.
Nyora is 12 km from Lang Lang, and 11 kilometres from the nearest beach.

Banks Caravan Park in Banks Australian Capital Territory

Banks is a suburb in the Canberra, Australia district of Tuggeranong. It is the most southerly suburb of Canberra. The suburb is named after Sir Joseph Banks (1743-1820), the botanist who accompanied Captain James Cook to the Pacific Ocean on which he entered Botany Bay in 1770. The suburb was gazetted on 12 March 1987. The theme of the street names is botany or natural history.

Banks is located next to the suburbs of Conder and Gordon. It is bounded by Box Hill Avenue, Tom Roberts Avenue and Tharwa Drive. Located in the suburb is Beau and Jessi Park and the Banks Oval.

The Rob Roy Nature Park is a hilly region to the east of Banks. The suburb itself slopes gently to the west north west.

There is a small shopping centre in the suburb, on the main internal road, Pockett Avenue.

Moriac Caravan Park in Moriac Victoria

Moriac is a rural town in Victoria, Australia, located approximately 25 kilometres (16 mi) west of Geelong. It forms part of the Surf Coast Shire. At the 2006 census, Moriac had a population of 594.

The town was surveyed in the 1920s as a village based around the Moriac station on the Port Fairy line, which had been founded to serve the adjacent community of Mount Moriac. The railway had opened in 1876, followed by the Wensleydale branch line which left the main line here, which opened in 1890 and closed in 1948. The Post Office had opened on 1 August 1854 as Duneed, and was renamed Mount Moriac in 1864 and Moriac around 1909.

The town was initially slow to develop, but survived the closure of the railway line and grew to house a population of several hundred. Though still heavily rural in nature, the town now largely serves as a satellite village of Geelong, with many residents commuting into the city to work.

The town is home to Moriac Primary School, which has approximately 200 students, a pub, one shop. Also has a petting zoo.

Dalpura Farm has been doing very good work in forestry permaculture.
