Kemal reviews Silver Creek Caravan Park Beechworth Victoria

Kemal from Melbourne has written some positive comments about the Silver Creek Caravan Park in Beechworth Victoria:

“What a great caravan park. Camped here and was in the lower section of park, which is great, as it is shady and near the creek and trees.

Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Clean caravan park and amenities.

Fire pits supplied and wood delivered too! Well stocked kiosk and well maintained gardens.

Across the creek and over the bridge are walks established by Parks Victoria. Highly recommend this park to anyone! However as it is a small park, best to book!”

Patrick Kelly reviews Lakes Bushland Caravan Park Nicholson Victoria

Our roving reporter Patrick Kelly has filed this report on Lakes Bushland Caravan Park:

“This park really lives up to its Bushland name, situated off the highway half way between Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance so a good base to explore the Lakes.

Basic cabin only $50 per night, no en suite but across from amenities which were very clean, as was the cabin itself. En suite cabins also available.

The park has a pool, pitch & putt golf, tennis court, BBQs, rec room and camp kitchen.

Staff very friendly, basic kiosk on site.

The park was half empty even on Australia Day weekend which was a bonus. Very pleasant, quiet park where the noisiest things are the kookaburras, king parrots and cockatoos! Would happily return.”

Hop Down to Kangaroo Island in South Australia

Roving reporter Russell Barter highly recommends visiting Kangaroo Island after having spent some time there recently. He kindly sent me some photos of Kingscote Nepean Bay Tourist Park which appears to be a nice relaxing park as you can see from his review.

Russell is a gifted photographer as demonstrated by the photo below:

Paul Henstock reviews Werribee South Caravan Park Victoria

Our intrepid roving Reporter Paul Henstock has sent this positive report on Werribee South Caravan Park which is located at 39 Beach Road, Werribee South:

“Many tourist sites now have direct water views across Beach Road to Port Phillip Bay since previous permanent site bookings or residential occupiers have been relocated. This has proved a welcome move and has resulted in the park now having a strong repeat visitor booking list -us included!

Cross the road and there is plenty of sandy beach to enjoy, most of which offers safe swimming from the gradual beach slope. Adventure playground for the kids plus there’s also a good length walking pavement for the energetic! Fisherman can launch from the purpose built boat ramp that has a jetty nearby.

Good management and maintenance from Brett and Julie means the grounds are neat and tidy and the two blocks of fairly new amenities are kept spotless.

Big vans, buses and 5th wheelers can fit onto many of the tourist sites. A bonus is most of the front tourist sites have their own dump point!

Free BBQ facility, gas available and a nearby take away food shop that also has basic needs.

Dog friendly park (usual conditions) and an oval alongside the park is also great for dog exercise, watching the football or cricket!

Only minutes drive away are Werribee Open Range Zoo, Werribee Mansion, State Rose Garden, Shadowfax Winery (not a bad drop!) and the Air Force Museum (free entry and a very worthwhile visit).

Retail therapy is more than satisfied by a 10 minute drive to Werribbe’s main street, the Plaza or Old Geelong Road Hoppers Crossing.

Melbourne can be accessed from the park without going through a set of traffic lights, and you can usually get there in about 25-30 minutes out of peak times.

Brett and Julie have turned this park into a word of mouth success, so these days I would recommend you pre-book to avoid disappointment.”
