Seasonal Fruit Picking in Bowen 2010

Megan & Brad Hogan from Bowen Palms Caravan Park write:

“The word is out that the fruit picking season has begun for some, but the majority of workers wanted for June. It is anticipated that the sheds will open in mid June. Fruit Picking jobs are vast with the duties you could perform, from weeding, laying plastic, planting, wiring, picking, pruning, crop dusting, truck driving, forklift stacking, sorting, packing…and more. The park has all seasonal vans occupied and the other sites are starting to fill. Looking like it will be a good year is the word on the street.”

Bowen Queensland is a Safe Bet for Easter

Megan and Brad Hogan of Bowen Palms Caravan Park sent this report on their experience with Cyclone Ului:

“We all were so lucky here in beautiful Bowen aftermath of the cyclone (Category 3) ULUI 21.03.2010 at 1.40am. We suffered wind gusts, power outage and minor rain compared to other surrounding area’s during the event. Luckily, power was restored after 9 hours and we were all back up and running soon after. Many loads of plant debris were removed (still a little bit to go), but all buildings and structures were unaffected thankfully. So that means Bowen is a safe bet for Easter bookings.”
