Browns Flat Rest Area - Nerong NSW

The Browns Flat Rest Area is a new area built as part of the dual carriageway upgrade between Bulahdelah and Newcastle.  The rest area is situated just south of the Nerong turnoff.  The rest area is divided into town parts with one being for cars and caravans and the other for trucks.  The rest area design is quite striking.  At the time when these photos were taken I could not see any "No Camping" signs.  However, there are only a few spaces for caravans unless you are daring enough to mix it with the trucks. If you decide to stay overnight then it is entirely at your own risk.
