Paradise Palms Caravan Park - Carey Bay NSW

Carey Bay is situated on the western side of Lake Macquarie not far from Toronto. The park has some nice cabins with Lake views. Amenities are good. Only a limited number of powered sites for caravans are available so try to book ahead. This park is full for most of the year so we recommend that you try other parks in the area. These photos are retained purely for historical purposes.

Wind the clock forward to 2022 and this is a different park altogether! New managers came in around 2018 and turned it on its head! Managed to expel the riff raff and totally clean the place up. There is still a little bit of age to things like the ammenities but they are spotlessly clean and well presented! The gardens are lovely throughout the park including beautiful trees, some lit up at night. Of course there are also lovely palms!

The guest cabins are also spotless and well equipped, all clustered around the pool and the lakefront. The park in general is exceptionally well maintained. There are still permanent people in the park but they’re largely older people, some having lived there for many years. The permanent vans and cabins are also well maintained, some with beautiful gardens.

Paradise palms is a quiet environment, where you can feel safe and part of a friendly community. Highly recommend the park for a short or long break where you can walk easily to shops and restaurants at Toronto. Park managers are in attendance 24/7 so if you need anything they’re never far away!

We booked in for 6 nights on a caravan powered site. Did not like the feeling at all and we were surrounded by noisy permenents and people going through our site. The amenities were disgusting. Dirty toilets, broken tiles on the floor, mouldy and smelly. Very, very poor matainance. The photos on the site are very deceiving, showing nice cabins along the water. There is only 5 powered sites with one along the water and the others shoved in with permenents. Decided to put up for one night and asked for a refund which wasn't a problem. Makes you wonder how many times this has happened. Would not recommend this park to anyone.

We stayed 4 nights,(no other accom avail in area ) very grubby facilities all weekend. Toilet rolls useless,just shred, ran out in one loo took day to replace even though we left note on door also all sat one ladies loo completely blocked

We stayed with my 4 children over the new year and I found it nice and comfortable. My children enjoyed the time in the pool. During our 6night stay we had 2 styles of cabin accommodation and I found them both clean and tidy.

Stayed hear month ago with mates for fishing weekend. My god this place got to be the worst caravan park on the coast. no soap no tea towels no tea bags rude owners and noisy locals. good access to water but thats it.

we stayd in park few weeks ago never again we wanted a guite time allwe got was roudy people an loud music from one of the cabins till late in the nite not happy

We received a claim of bed bugs in one of our ensuite cabins. We immediately acted to resolve this issue by calling in an accredited pest controller who confirmed bed bugs were not present within the cabin or linen supply.

My family and i have stayed at what we call PARADISE BY THE LAKE
numerous times
Its a great location,friendly and helpful staff, clean and tidy cabins
swimming or boating and some night time fishing and bbqs
great fun every time :-)

I have been taking my family for holiays here many years and hopefully many more. never had any problems, top location and very friendly people...would recommend to anyone ..never had a problem with insects, aeroguard does wonders....see you all again soon

we stayed at this caravan park last week and several people were infected with bed bugs. We are awaiting for a response from the proprietors to see what is being done about the problem.
