The Kimberley Entrance Caravan Park is located at Rowan Street Derby. The park has powered and unpowered sites. The park is pet friendly. Resident Managers are on site. Phil and Clare write: "Derby The First Town in the Kimberley Derby is located on the King Sound near the mouth of the Fitzroy River. It has a tropical climate, and an average maximum temperature of 34c and a minimum 21C. Annual rainfall 623mm most falling between November and March. The soil is pindan with acacia, eucalyptus, tropical grasses and boab tress being the main natural vegetation.

Kimberley Entrance Caravan Park is one of two located within the town of Derby and is owned and run by Ian and Julie who are most friendly and willing to assist you as much as possible. The park is pet friendly subject to managers discretion and has over 200 shaded, power and water sites, as well as 52 tent and non powered sites, most powered sites are large and many have grass covered areas.

The fee per night for 2 on a powered site costs $33 and for a non powered site $28 for two people, there are 3 separate toilet and shower and laundry blocks spread through out the camp, all were clean and well presented, the laundry machine cost $3 a load, gas bottle refills are also available from the office we found the park well run, clean and tidy and the Management and staff very helpful and friendly.

There is a well set up camp kitchen and TV area as well the camp is well light of a night and is totally fenced. This caravan park is a centre point for campers to leave their van and travel to many of the local scenic areas such as, Tunnel Creek, via the Old Gibb Rd as well as Winjana Gorge and flights and tours to the Horizontal Falls.

If you wish to leave your van in the park in a secure area whilst exploring for a few days it costs, $7 unpowered or $10 powered, however we also found another caravan storage area fully fenced and secured 5kms from town at the beginning of the Gibb River road that charges $3 per day or $15 per week long term, just call 0408 911 460 for more details.

Derby is not a large town but is worth seeing and good for a few days rest, the park also receives TV, phone and internet easily.

The other caravan park is called West Kimberly Lodge and Caravan Park at Lot 50 Sutherland St Derby.

Facilities include above ground pool, BBQ 20 powered sites @ $30 per night plus overflow, fully equipped laundry and within walking distance to shops. They do advertise Adults Only so not having visited the park I’m assuming it means just no children? Hope this information is of assistance to you
