Fantastic campgrounds, one of our favourite.
This park is a place of rugged mountain ranges, bisected plateaus, karst caves, wild and scenic rivers and threatened plants and animal species. A significant portion of the park is wilderness.
Cavers can explore the limestone caves (caving permits apply to some sites}. Canoe on the upper Shoalhaven River or float on an air mattress near the camping areas. There are also opportunities for experienced bushwalkers. See the Big Hole (96 m deep) while camping at Berlang or Wyanbene Cave camping areas, or follow the Araluen Road and camp at Deua River, Bakers Flat or Dry Creek (car-based camping, minimal facilities, fees apply). A secluded camp area is also available at Bendethera (4WD only).
Access 100 km south-east of Canberra. Deua River and Bakers Flat camping areas are both on Araluen Road {unsealed but 2WD). Dry Creek camping area is nearby on Dry Creek fire trail (4WD access only). Berlang camping area is on Krawarree Road, between Nimmitabel and Braidwood. Bendethera camping area is accessible via Dampier Mountain firetrail (4WD only) off Snowball Road, or Bendethera firetrail (4WD only) via Western Boundary Road and Sugarloaf Road off the Princes Highway. This campground is in an open valley, with river crossings and grassy flats. It's good for walking, swimming, caving and picnicking.
Getting there: Take the Bendethera fire trail from the east, or Dampier Mountain fire trail from the west, to get to this campground.
Facilities: wood barbecues (bring your own firewood), non-flush toilets
Water supply: You can get water from the river, though it must be boiled before drinking. Campsite is only accessible by 4wd vehicle
265.2 km SSW of Sydney
Access is via Bendethera service trail from the east, or Dampier Mountain fire trail from the west.
You will need to walk a short distance from your car to the campsite - no caravans or camper trailers
This is a large, open campground, which is flat and grassy. Treat creek water before drinking.
You are not able to book these campsites - first come basis.

This is an excellant place to camp and we have hardly scratched the surface, much more exploring to do.The lack of toilets is the only drawback,we only saw two but you can only use one at a time I guess.
