Goldfields Caravan Park - Georgetown QLD

Pet Friendly

The Goldfields Caravan Park is situated in St George Street Goldfields.  Georgetown is a small country town in north western Queensland with a population of approx. 260 people and has an airport, school, hospital, hotel and foodstores.  The amenities are clean, but old and the hospitality here is friendly and helpful.  At $20 per night for a powered caravan site for 2 people, it is good value with a good water supply as well.  We would recommend the park for travellers in the outback. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos.

Photos and report on this page were kindly supplied by our roving reporters Greg and Lena Crane in August 2011.

We came across this caravan park incidentally, as we were travelling through from Normanton to Cairns. It was such a tranquil place to park our van and the manager was friendly and helpful. The public pool down the road was a great place to cool off in a tidy garden setting, a credit to the community. The local pub had great meals and hospitality. I would definitely recommend a stop over here.
