Mention Goondiwindi Grey and everyone thinks of the famous race horse Gunsynd that captured the hearts of racegoers throughout the world. Gunsynd was dearly loved winning 29 of his 55 races. Goondiwindi is the administrative centre for agricultural industries such as wheat, wool, cotton and beef. The Botanical Gardens are well worth a visit and the town has a rich variety of birds and animals. The town is located on the MacIntyre River and a lovely walkway has been built beside the river.
