Pacific Gardens Van Village - Heatherbrae NSW

Pet Friendly

Pacific Gardens Van Village is a well loved park as you can see from the photos on this page. I am sure that one of the reasons for this is that the park is owned and operated by the Waddell Family. Your hosts are David and Heather Waddell. One of the nice features of this park is the Chinese Restaurant. The grounds and facilities are well maintained. The park is a short stroll to McDonalds Restaurant and other fast food outlets to Heatherbrae. Some traffic noise may be experienced due to the proximity of the Pacific Highway. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos. Photos on this page were taken on the 7th July 2011.

Travelling with a caravan...don't bother staying here. Overpriced($30.00 a night) for what we got...a spot near the rubbish bins with no water or grey water outlet. Toilets right down the other end of the park with many showers out of action. Incredibly noisy. Park was clean but obviously not designed for caravans

I stayed here in August 2014. We were three adults booked into a "manor" cabin. The cabin was clean but while it slept 4 people, it only had seating for 2. There was only a small 2-seater sofa in the living area. To resolve this, management provided us with a dining chair from the restaurant which, at least, was better than sitting on the floor. Luckily for us there were 3 bar stools at the kitchen bench (no dining table). I realise we weren't paying for 5 star facilities but I was only asking for a decent chair to sit in, not room service or a jacuzzi.

Only one bed was ready on our arrival and there was no other linen provided. Another trip to the office to get sheets and a towel - no offer was made for someone to make up the bunk bed (which, unfortunately does not suit anyone taller than 175 cms.)

Other small but annoying irritants included no external porch light, the aircon remote batteries were dead and the fridge was not very cold. There were no brochures in the cabin showing local services or tourist spots.

On the plus side - the young lady at reception was very pleasant and helpful. The park is tidy and clean. It could be a useful exercise for management to randomly select and stay in a cabin for a couple of nights.

I really like the look of this park but I could do with an e mail address to use for contacting them, as I am considering booking 14 nights with them later this year .
