Southside Holiday Village - Rockhampton QLD

Located on the southern side of Rockhampton the Southside Holiday Village is a large spacious caravan park with 175 powered sites. The park has excellent facilities and a nice pool. Noise screening from the Bruce Highway is quite good. A railway line runs directly behind the park so if you enjoy the evocative sound of trains then this is a good place to stay. The resident owners are Nev and Merv O'Neill. Bookings can be made by telephoning the park and please tell the park that you have seen their photos on Caravan Park Photos.

Keith situations change over time and we wholly depend on our user comments to keep everyone up to date. I personally stayed at this park some years ago and didn't mind the trains. However that was before the recent coal mining boom which may have substantially increased truck and train movements.

I,m confused because I checked this site for Rockhampton and based on what was said I booked in for a week.On arrival to rocky from Emerald was miles of roadworks almost up to the caravan park which is on a dual carriage way .A sign in the office said to turn left at the gate go up to and around the roundabout to come down the other side of the dual carriage way it only takes 4 mins?So based on a 4 star rating we was surprised to say the least on arrival that was paid visa pre booked.I then went and checked this site again only to find a comment from someone regarding this park telling it as it really is .If caravan park photos is to have any credibility then what happens to the truth ?

Yes we like but you have a choice: a site at the front of the park and cop all the Bruce Hwy truck noise OR, at the back of the park just 60m from the railway where southbound trains having cleared the station, put their foot down on the loud pedal of up to 4 de-lecs followed by 2km of coal wagons etc.

But we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Rockie
