Shortland Waters Golf Course - Shortland NSW

The Shortland Waters Golf Course is situated off Vale Street in Shortland. If you enjoy playing undulating courses then this one is a must. Set in a delightful valley with lots of water and hills this is a stunning course. The front nine holes have lots of interest and there is a real sense of history associated with this course and its close association with industry in Newcastle. The fairways are well maintained and the course has lots of mature trees and plants.

The Club House was originally built in the 1930's and the style of the architecture of that period has been well preserved. Hole 5 is one of the most challenging on the course with the tee off set high above bushland and an undulating rolling fairway to the green. The following Par 3 Hole 6 looks easy but to get onto the green you need to hit across a deep natural gully. The course is replete in bird life and the late afternoon sunlight creates marvellous shadows. If you have an opportunity do play this course and stop for a drink in the Club House afterwards.
