Queens Park Garden - Toowoomba QLD

Created in the 19th century the Queens Park Gardens and adjacent Botanical Gardens are an important part of Toowoomba's cultural and recreational heritage. The Gardens cover an area of 26 hectares which was originally a Government camping reserve. The Botanical Gardens were established in 1874 at the initiative of Mayor W H Groom. The title was passed to Toowoomba Council in 1892 on the understanding that it would always remain a recreation area for the city.
