While you stay in Wauchope visit the historic village of Timbertown. Best time to visit is in holidays because that's when all the displays are working. You don't have to worry about crowds of people in the holidays. There are steam train rides, horse and carriage rides and miniature train rides. The black smith show you how he makes things and the wood work shop is good to have a look at and talk to some volunteers who make all sorts of things. Also don't miss out on Craigs Bullock display as he shows off his boys and what they used to do when working in the bush. He is a character and is funny to talk to and makes you laugh when he shows of his Bullocks. He also shows you how to crack a whip. The train driver was lovely and was happy to talk about his steam engine. The ride on the train was great. The saw mill has a collection of old steam machinery all puffing away. Old buildings and some farm animals are there to see all year round. And lots of old machinery. There is an ice cream shop and a large restaurant with simple but good food on offer. Plenty of picnic tables scattered around the park if you want to bring your own lunch. You entry ticket covers all displays and rides. $22 per adult or $72 per family. Great day out and not to be missed.
