Janet & John Elliott review the BIG4 Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park in Port Macquarie NSW

Our roving reporters Janet and John Elliott recommend Port Macquarie and the BIG4 Sundowner Breakwall Tourist Park:

“The park was very well located and a easy walk into town for shopping as it had a boardwalk all the way into town.

We had a fold out camper trailer, with an annex which we attached to the trailer.

The township of Port Macquarie had all the shopping you could ask for.

The caravan park was very well maintained and even had a take way shop and groceries and a lovely pool.

The bowls club in town had lovely cheap meals which you could walk to along the boardwalk from the caravan park.”

We found the park was in a very nice position very close to town. The reason why we would not stay there again is the ammenities block, it is attrocious. Very old and in our opinion quite unhealthy. It is to be hoped that thay can do something about this problem in the future

I agree with John & Janet that this park is in a great location however we were very disappointed with our cabin. We stayed in what was the best cabin the park had available,a spa bayside cabin, and while it was in a great spot it was far from the standard we have found in other Big 4 parks. The cabin was very tired and poorly maintained, sparsely furnished, and our personal BBQ was very old and heavily rusted.Checking out was also a problem with only one staff member to handle both phone enquiries and guests checking in and out. Also an excessive deposit of $50.00 on cabin keys created even more delays.
