David Pollock reviews Lakes Entrance Tourist Park in Lakes Entrance Victoria

Our roving reporter David Pollock of Paradise Beach Victoria reviews Lakes Entrance Tourist Park in Lake Entrance Victoia:

“Packed in like sardines in a tin. Unlevel sites hard to level van. Not much grass or concrete…just sand. Showers cold and very low water flow. Handles missing from wash basins. Traffic noise very bad.

Not a tourist park at all because there are mainly permanent dwellings taking up most of the site.

Rude management “We are a business and you are only Joe Blow from down the road.” was said to me.

Site office opens late for deposit returns. Trees overhang roadways and catch your ‘van or motorhome.”

WOW – David I cannot believe we are talking about the same park that we visited early 2009! (my review shows Oct.2009 but that is when I found Caravan Park Photos and submitted my review.)

It surely must have changed owner/operators/business plan because we had a complete opposite experience to yours!

We stayed for 4 weeks and everything was just fine. Sounds like they may have gone the “permanent resident” option in which case I think they should withdraw from tourist park listings!

In our early days of Grey Nomading we found a few caravan parks that should be “delisted” as tourist parks because they favour “permanent residential”, but I guess there will be something in the “local Council laws” that changes the rules/charges/rates/requirements if they are not open for business as a caravan “tourist” park!

I’ll back it in it will come down to the mighty dollar!

Good thing about the Caravan Park Photos website is we can pick the good from the bad by people like us sending in reviews – here’s to power to the paying people!!
