Old Kowen Homestead Recreation Area - Kowen Forest ACT

Old Kowen Homestead Recreation Area is located at Kowen Rd - N , Kowen off Sutton Road on the way to Queanbeyan. 

Reviews indicate that it is a nice place with plenty of room for campers, tents or caravans. Most sites are on a slope but if not busy plenty of level ground.The road in is gravel and a bit steep in places.

You need to book with National Parks and pay for your stay*. There is a gate with a lock and the National Parks will give you a code when you book to get in. Great place to explore Canberra from if you are on a budget. Queanbean is about 10-15 minutes away. Canberra about 25-30 min.

*According to the ACT Government "Kowen Forest is a locked forest so bookings are essential to obtain approval and access to the area".
