For experienced bushwalkers there are plenty of opportunities for extended walks and backpack camping. Most of the park is declared wilderness, so group sizes and activities are restricted. Wildlife abounds at Boyd Crossing, where car-based camping is available. A pleasant 10-minute walkfrom Kanangra Walls carpark takes you to a lookout over the park. The carpark toilets, lookout and Boyd River camping area are all wheelchair-accessible.
Access 180 km west of Sydney near Jenolan Caves on Kanangra Road (unsealed but suitable for 2WD). Vehicle entry fee applies. This camping ground is set among snow gums. At night you can see greater gliders, sugar gliders, brushtail possums, tawny frogmouths, wombats, wallabies and kangaroos. Please bring firewood with you.
Getting there: The campground is on Kanangra Road. Some sites are a short walk from the carpark.
Facilities: wood barbecues (bring your own firewood), non-flush toilets
Water supply: You can get drinking water from Morong Creek (boil it before use). The campsite is accessible by all weather unsealed roads suitable for 2wd vehicles. 107.6 km W of Sydney. The campground can be found on Kanangra Road. Some sites are a short walk from the car park. You can park a caravan, trailer, or a tent in this campground. There are a total of 30 campsites. Water from Morong Creek can be treated for drinking.
