Booloumba Creek No 4 Campground - Kenilworth State Forest QLD

$9.70 per night for two. have to pay on line, this national park is kenilworth national park Kenilworth Sate Forest is approximately two hours north of Brisbane in the headwaters of the Mary Valley. The State Forest is not far south of the town of Kenilworth and coming from Brisbane the turn-offs are to the left. There are two roads into this park and they are not very far apart.
The State Forest is about 20,000 ha and contains two major camping precincts with four actual campgrounds. The major campgrounds are:
· Charlie Moreland Camping and Day Use Area S26 36.957 E152 39.040
· Booloumba Creek Camping and Day Use Area
The campgrounds all have good toilets, are well maintained, with fireplaces and good drinking water available.The park has a large loop road around it, this road can take 1 hour to go around and has some Forest Park walks and highlights on the way. The road is marked as two-wheel drive but it could be pretty tricky in a two-wheel drive in the wet. The Booloumba Creek campgrounds are closest to the first entrance if coming from Brisbane and the Charlie Moreland campground is closest to the second entrance. There are three camping areas at Booloumba Creek. Grassy camp sites are located in rainforest and open forest settings close to mountain streams.
The Booloumba Creek Road access includes creek crossings that are accessible by high clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles only. Alternative 2WD dry-weather-only access to the camping areas is via Sunday Creek Road, Funnels Hut Road and Booloumba Creek Road.
Nearby Imbil State Forest’s Charlie Moreland camping area, on Sunday Creek Road, is accessible by conventional two-wheel-drive vehicles.
Some opportunities for remote, walk-in bush camping are available within the park. There are also three remote overnight walkers’ camps located along the Conondale Range Great Walk.
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your camp site.
Park-specific conditions
Rubbish bins are not provided in Conondale National Park. Take all your rubbish out of the park for appropriate disposal. The nearest refuse transfer station is at the end of Cambroon Lane, 1 km north of Kenilworth township, off the Kenilworth–Brooloo Road. Open Saturday and Sunday 8 am–12 midday.

Booloumba Creek 1 camping area
Campground features: Reasonably secluded tent camping on individual sites within a rainforest setting. Close to Booloumba Creek.
Location: The Booloumba Creek camping areas access road is off the Kenilworth–Maleny Road about half way between Kenilworth and Conondale townships. The camping area is nestled close to the creek in Booloumba Gorge with Mount Allan fire tower and other walks nearby.
Access: The Booloumba Creek Road access is unsealed and includes creek crossings that are accessible by high clearance four-wheel-drive vehicles only. Alternative 2WD dry-weather-only access is via Sunday Creek Road, Funnels Hut Road and Booloumba Creek Road to the camping areas.
Number of sites: 24 numbered sites. Some sites are double size to suit larger family groups.
Camp sites are suitable for: tent camping beside your car; walk-in camping.
Nearby Booloumba Creek 4 camping area caters for caravans; camper trailers; (small) motorhomes; large groups.
Camp site surface: Dirt.
Facilities: Water (unsuitable for drinking without treatment as it is pumped from the creek and may contain organisms that can cause illness), toilets (including wheelchair accessible), cold showers, individual fire rings (bring your own clean-cut firewood), walking tracks, pay phone.
Open fires: Allowed (except when fire bans apply) in fire rings only. Fuel stoves are recommended.
Generators: Not allowed.
