Tjukayirla Roadhouse - Lake Wells WA

Tjukayirla Roadhouse is 15kms east of the junction of the David Carnegie Road and the Great Central Road. Apart from fuel, the Road House also provides basic food stuffs, and has a caravan park with a camp kitchen. Very well priced local art. A lot cheaper than the other communities yet still original.

Call ahead if you're running late and you'll be greeted with a warm welcome. A sunrise swim in the pool is a must. Stayed in January and had the camp grounds to ourselves.

Stayed Nov 2008, excellent experience. Had camp all to our selves. Dog didn't like emus much but owners where very hospitable

stayed there sept 2008, friendly, clean, secure camp with 2 pet emu's Izzy and Dizzy, no alcohol available.

Visited again in May 2009 with some aircraft from work and was once again treated extremely well. I love this place, it is so relaxing after a big day!!!

Pulled in for a smoko break in June 2008 and had a great time. We bought some great Aboriginal Art 2.4M x 1.3M for a great price and all money goes straight back to the community. The canvas roll lasted another 5 weeks on the road without damage, talk about sturdy!!! My wife even had a cappuccino (long life milk based) but she was wrapped. Will always drop in when passing buy.

Pulled in late in the day with rain starting to fall. The owners reopened the kitchen to cook us a meal without any hesitation.
Good facilities for vans with camping area and basic dongers available.Good BBQ and outdoor kitchen area.
Nicknamed "The Zoo", emus, roos,dogs and a cat roam the grounds by day (locked away at night).
Fuel prices were among the best along the Great Central Rd.
