Freemans Campground - Munmorah State Recreation Area NSW
Launch a boat from the ramp at Elizabeth Bay or swim and surf at a variety of beaches (surf beaches are not patrolled, except Frazer Beach which is patrolled during Christmas and Easter holidays}. Car-based camping is available at Frazer camping area {gas barbecues, accessible toilets} and car-based and limited caravan camping at Freemans camping area (gas barbecues}; bookings essential. Only gas barbecues may be used in the park.
Access 115 km north-east of Sydney, 41 km north of Gosford via Elizabeth Bay Drive off the Pacific Highway. Vehicle entry fee applies. You’ll find barbecues here, together with a wheelchair-accessible toilet and campsites. Nearby Birdie Beach is inaccessible. Camping fees apply.
A few minutes walk from Birdie Beach, this campground offers a peaceful atmosphere with basic facilities. There is limited access for caravans. You can stay for a maximum of two weeks.
Getting there: Drive to the campground on Birdie Beach Drive.

Bookings: Bookings are recommended for weekends and school holidays. They can be made up to 3 months in advance. Bookings for the Christmas School Holidays through to Australia Day long weekend are taken from 9:00am on the third Monday in September. The campsite is accessible by sealed roads. 84 km NNE of Sydney. The campground is on Birdie Beach Drive near Birdie Beach. You can park a caravan, trailer, or a tent in this campground. There are a total of 36 campsites. This is a well established campsite. There are 8 caravan sites and 28 tent based camping sites. Groups of more than 8 are required to fill in a group booking form which can be obtained through the booking office. There is a short walk along a footpath to Birdie Beach. The campsite is flat and in an open area, reasonably well protected from the sea breeze. There is limited shaded area. The amenities block and cooking shelter are in great condition and provide good facilities. There is an emergency-only phone near the amenities block.
