Paul Henstock reviews Rainforest Holiday Village in Nambour Queensland

Our roving reporter Paul Henstock has sent this comprehensive review of the Rainforest Holiday Village in Nambour Queensland:

“For me 2 criteria of a caravan park are the friendliness plus would I go back, or will I look for another caravan park in the area. Our stay here has been delightful and yes we will be back!!

This park is mainly tourist with only a few permanents, whom we found pleasant and quite happy for a chat!

Being located within minutes of Nambour, and Woombye, it is great for those must do shopping needs. Major shopping and business centre of Maroochydore is a quick and easy 15km drive away, which also means the patrolled surf beaches of Maroochydore, Alexandra Headlands and Mooloolaba are fairly close as well!

Being located at Nambour meant we were at the hub of all the Sunshine Coast has to offer.

Townships of Montville, Kennilworth, Maleny, and those famous markets at Eumundi are within easy reach, as are attractions Ginger Factory, Big Pineapple, Underwater World, Australia Zoo Big Kart track, Aussie World and the engineering masterpiece Ettamogah Pub (good tucker mate!)

Notable highlights for us were Saturday lunch Eumundi main street at Joe’s Waterhole pub, to watch Uncle Bob’s Jug Band (if you don’t smile you’re probably dead!) with all but one main meal under $20 it is cheap and fun! Maleny cheese factory for tastings and lunch.

On a Sunday go first to the Ginger Factory and then head back to the Little Morgue Winery for tastings and a lazy, enjoyable lunch with music.

Just up the road from the caravan park there is an award winning French restaurant at Woombye, but unfortunately it was closed for the Christmas holiday season on our visit.

For those who travel with pets the Woombye Vet in the main street (Charlotte) is excellent.

The park is well managed by Kim and she does everything within her power to make your visit a pleasant experience.

All amenities are thoroughly cleaned daily and the grounds kept in a tip top tidy well presented manner.

There is a pool (see photo below) with BBQ facility alongside or, for the bigger meal, a comfortable camp kitchen is available. Kids can enjoy looking at the various birds in the aviaries or they can use the playground which adjoins the park.

Bring your bus, motorhome, caravan or tent and enjoy all the Sunsine Coast has to offer from this hub location.

Pets are welcome with usual conditions applying.

It’s been a feel good stay for us, and we will be back for more!”

My partner is currently staying here and is paying a fortune for a room which looks nothing like the beautifully presented website. He has sent me photos – dust coating walls and shelves, mould on walls and a tiny television which has no reception. He asked for a refund for the remainder of the week to which they refused. The website does say no to refunds but the room is clearly not up to standard (or how it is described on their website)a customer should be entitled to a refund. Definately not worth $455!
